Nena Aleschewski. Naturopath, Herbalist, Nutritionist and Lactation Consultant (International Board Certified)
About Me
Hello, I’m Nena Aleschewski and I LOVE acrobatics – more specifically I love acro yoga, which is kind of like a love child of acrobatics and partner yoga. As a parent of two young children life is a constant juggle and balancing act between their needs and my own – my own daily circus! Amongst the balancing of people and children, you will also find me in the kitchen creating nutritious food, or running barefoot through the local bushlands, connecting to the natural world.
Naturopathic Training
I completed a Bachelor degree of Naturopathy in 2008 at Southern Cross University in the luscious Northern Rivers NSW, where I fell in love with plants and food as medicine. I then completed an intensive mentoring internship at the historic Goulds Natural Medicine in Hobart, Tasmania which consolidated my learning and then pushed my knowledge further than I could have thought possible at the time.
While caring for a lot of distressed new mothers I became passionate in being able to support families in their breastfeeding journeys, so completed an International Certification in Lactation.
In my professional clinical practice, I like to bring the sense of connection through understanding, communication, trust and a bit of playful humour.
I believe that families come in all varieties, and I welcome single parents, queer families, adopted children, children and parents with differing abilities.
Food As Medicine
From preconception, pregnancy, babies and beyond, I am here to hold space for you and your journey. My goal is to find the path best suited to you and your life that will have long lasting benefits. I like to educate patients to feel empowered to make the changes they need for optimal health.
I use food as medicine, herbal therapies, nutritional supplementation and lifestyle advice, as well as a wealth of knowledge and experience. I love helping families with breastfeeding skills and infant feeding advice – especially before bub comes (there’s nothing like being prepared!), but also in any moment of need (crying babies, painful breasts, milk supply, etc).
